Favourite season of farming and why?

“The Spring months (Djilba and Kambarang), always feels good as the beginning of warmer soil and warmer weather with visible signs of new life from the plants and animals.”

What variety of crops do you grow;

We work with a diverse range of seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs, using heirloom open pollinated varieties as much as possible.

Are you open to mentoring young farmers to give them a good start?

Sure, I am more than happy to share my own experiences and help new farmers wherever I can.

“To respect the things that can’t be seen with our eyes… a farmer is always a learner.”

How long have you been farming?

“I started farming around 20 years ago in vitculture and then around 6 years ago, we both started growing veggies here on the farm.”

What inspired you to start and continue farming?

“After reading and discovering a few truths about what is called ‘Conventional Farming’ its corruption and its impact on our health and environment and my own experience with agricultural chemicals, it was a case of wanting to be part of the solution. To be able to assist others towards positive health is an empowering feeling.”

What is the most rewarding part of running a farm?

“Seeing our son eat his way through the garden”

Do you allow volunteers?

Yes, absolutely. We appreciate the exchange of experience and enthusiasm.
