How do your two boys go on the farm?

A “Our little one hops into the farm and grabs anything green and eats it. The kids tend to eat veggies out in the farm but when you bring them inside and cook them up they aren’t interested!’

C: ‘Its very cool to see, they point out oh that’s kale, just the identification. Even for me we grew eggplants this season and was amazed at how pretty the flowers were. Its important for them to know where food comes from.’

A: ‘Potatoes are a good one, they dig them up and they’re like woah!’

C: ‘The kids just love it!’

“Its important that our children know where their food comes from.”

“Farming sure is hard work, but it’s all worth it when you see the faces of those who get to enjoy the fruits of the hard work.”

What was the process to getting to organic farming?

C: ‘“It was a pretty long process; it was a change in lifestyle too. We started eating and exercising more years ago.”

A: “ it started with wanting to move back to the country and raise children in the country, we were both raised in the country and both happy we grew up that way and wanted the same for our kids.”

What are you growing at the moment?

A: “We have tomatoes and capsicums in the greenhouse, we operate on three blocks within our acre. We have brassicas, beetroots, zucchinis, cucumbers, corn, potatoes, watermelon, pumpkin and garlic we have a lot of variety.”

What has farming taught you?

C: “One thing for us that is so important, especially when you have so many ideas, to look back when things seem to be moving slowly and reflect on how much we have expanded and grown and recognizing the achievements.”
